Thank you for choosing Synoptek for your email needs. As you are aware, we are migrating from McAfee SaaS email filtering to Proofpoint Essentials. In order to complete the change to the new provider, some settings will need to be changed on your end. Once these changes are made you can anticipate your protection through Proofpoint Essentials to begin within 24 hours. These records need to be changed prior to January 11, 2017 or email will stop flowing for this account.
Note: These instructions are intended to be applied ONLY to the domains hosted by us.
Applying the below changes to records for other domains may result in mail disruption for those domains.
Please go to your DNS provider and make the following changes to begin using the new service:
- MX records:
- Remove any current MX records
- Then add the following:
mx1-us1.ppe-hosted.com priority 10
mx2-us1.ppe-hosted.com priority 20
- TXT records:
- TXT: add a:dispatch-us.ppe-hosted.com to the SPF records.
For example, if your old records were:
HOST: example.com TXT: v=spf1 a mx include:controladmin.net include:mxlogic.net -all
then your new records will be:
HOST: example.com TXT: v=spf1 a mx include:controladmin.net a:dispatch-us.ppe-hosted.com include:mxlogic.net -all
