Microsoft Outlook 2016 introduced a new connection protocol for Exchange services (MAPI over HTTP) that is only compatible with Exchange 2013 SP1 and higher. Unfortunately, Outlook 2016 does not automatically fail back to the older protocol (RPC over HTTP) when connecting to an Exchange 2010 server. In order to connect Outlook 2016 to PayPerCloud Exchange, you must disable the MAPI over HTTP protocol. The protocol is controlled in the Windows registry on the computer running Outlook. In order to apply the workaround, please follow these instructions.
Please note: editing your registry carries inherent risks. It is highly recommended that you create a system restore point prior to completing these steps.
- Exit Outlook 2016
- Download the registry update text file
- Rename the file, changing the .txt extension to .reg
- Double-click on the file
- User Access Control will ask for permission for Registry Editor to make changes to your computer, click OK.
- Start Outlook
